Hatcher - Spot Illustrations
The Project
Through the awesome team over at Pixel Palace, Cameron and I collaborated on creating a series of spot illustrations for Hatcher Advisory.
The custom illustrations aimed to create a youthful energy and stand out from the giant pool of existing accounting firms. A great case study can be found on Pixel Palace’s website that explores the incredibly clean and bold new brand.

Vector Brush Style
Creating a sketchy, hand-drawn feeling to the images was important to the brand.
By incorporating brushes and textured vector effects in Adobe Illustrator, we could achieve a design that had a rougher, rasterized look but with the infinite scalability of vector art.
Combining this with the “Blob-Brush” tool to make the linework more free-form, we landed in the final style.
We kept vector points as low as possible since the deliverable .SVG files couldn’t have thousands upon thousands of points on each spot illustration.
